we will take care of the earth

life has been busy, easy to say i suppose, but it really feels like my moments are disappearing into nowhere and the ends of the days are finding me much to quickly. that, and there is a series of three books i can't seem to break away from. but being only a few chapters from finishing and having a very quiet house i feel excited to take some time to record our days.

these are the times that i don't know i deserve, i don't know how else to explain it. once a week we teach these kids, we love them, serve them and hope to share a piece of Gods love with them. we call it "my class" and as of late we have been teaching about creation. we literally walked them through the days of creation in the basement of miss ashleys house with hanging puff clouds and the sounds of waves crashing on the beach. we have cut and pasted in our creation note books like nobodys business, we have studied the creation of humanity and then from there we looked at our responsibilities. the importance of taking care of ourselves with nutrition and the food guide. we looked at having self control, and last week we experienced our role of looking after creation. i almost died.

we were outside in the wind and chilly air, but are you serious, there they were, nine of our little ones glued to miss jenne as she described the impact we have on creation all the way from recycling to composting to picking up garbage around a park.

and then she had them vow that they "would take care of the earth", including their hand print on a beautiful canvas to help them remember their words. like i said, i don't know that i deserve these ladies and the love that they so effortlessly pour out on our children. i mean for real, who wouldn't want all the love and joy that these three friends and fellow teachers offer.

they teach with passion and conviction, they teach with intention because they care, we care about these kids, their characters, their hearts, their attitudes, their whole selves. and i can't say thank you enough. so simply i repeat, thank you, thank you sweet sweet ladies for the investments you have made in my children, you are helping to mold their hearts and minds and i love that as i love you.
