carpet picnics

i remember as a little girl having my mom bring in a little bowl of smarties, divided exactly in half, counted out, as a carpet snack in our rooms for my sister and i. for some reason this is a favorite memory of mine. often it was accompanied by the smell of fresh baking, mostly pumpkin muffins, and the sounds of sandy patti singing softly in the back ground. i wonder if it was as delightful for her as it is for me to watch your girls play together, share moments, memories, life.
i find it amazing how these two little girls have developed a friendship, one rarely goes anywhere without the other following close behind or being yelled at to hurry up and join together.
my prayer is that they would love one another, that they would encourage each other and support the others dreams, goals and gifts. i pray that they would love the Lord with all their heart mind and soul. that they would smile and offer kindness to all that pass them by. that they would regret nothing, but instead make each day lovely as they serve the Lord. i pray that they will dream without limitations, that they would love without ceasing, that they would show Jesus to their friends, their families, their world.

What a great post! i have the same thoughts and prayers for my boys....and i thoroughly delight in watching them play together...including yelling for the other to hurry and catch up!
