best ever

i know that many of you out there will claim to have the best husband ever, and for that i am thankful. however, today is my day, it is my turn to share with you about the best ever, regardless of your own personal biases.

scott continues to show me daily different ways to love and laugh. truly i am blessed to call him my husband, friend and lover. when i think of the days we have already spent together my heart leaps at what is to come. at night when it is just the two of us, we can giggle and share our struggles in the comfort of shared love and friendship. we recalled last night one of the worst (gross) moments of my life and yet during that time there was no shame or even second thought to having scott help me...pretty sweet if you ask me. during our days when there are three of us, scott is so involved and present. he truly cares for our family and makes every effort to be a father and husband that we girls will be proud of. i am so excited to watch he and sophie interact and laugh together, they play hard and love each other well. as a daughter, i know the importance of having a father that shares with you their joy and delight in you, this sophie already and will continue to receive. it does my heart good to watch him become the father he always wanted but didn't always have...which is a constant thought on his mind. he is becoming a man after the Lords own heart.

i am honored to share my days with him, and though words fail her, i know through her actions that sophie is too.

playing in the sand is hard and serious work you know

digging holes with her dad, and trying to avoid falling in...then you just get in and dig from the inside out!

jumping with dad...she is very bossy, pointing at the water she would say to scott, "jump" and point again as if to make her request more clear.

time to go, sufficiently dirty and cold

after our day together, my heart was full and i turned to scott and said thank you. thank you for being such a wonderful husband. for loving me well and knowing how important it is to me to take our family outside to create memories. thank you for loving our daughter so well, for playing with her all day, making her laugh and trusting you in all situations.

some men are not involved with their families, for them my heart hurts. i am blessed to stand beside a man who knows what it means to cherish and care for your loved ones. for that i am thankful.
