good times

scott is playing guitar hero so i thought this would be a good time to post some pictures of our last week. dude, about that guitar hero, fun, but it makes my eyes go crazy...don't know what it is, but scott laughs at me every time i play cause i am a mess when i finish.

this past thursday was girls day, grandma, auntie chels, sophie and i headed to the states for some good times together. the destination was the tulip festival...i think you may be able to guess that much from the pictures.

sunday, scott and i enjoyed some time together and played a little outside with sophie.

today we had some friends from calgary come by, the franks and sister...so good to see them and share a muffin and tea with them. we headed into fort langley to walk the strip and poke around, (scott would have his picture in here if only he had come with us for a cupcake).

and that has been us for the past little while.
guitar hero is turned off now, but wrestling is on...i don't have anything else to write about, but i don't know that i want to go out there!

art and artists

an artist is one who works hard to create and share pieces of work that to them may or may not be classified as master pieces, but are meaningful in there own way.
i happen to have the joy of sharing a house with two of the greatest artists i have ever known. one, whom i have been married to now for a number of years, enjoys art work, is very talented at art, but who refuses to give any time into his talent...i should know as the art set i bought him one year for christmas is all still in the packages.
the other, whom is new to the world of art, will take any opportunity to share with us all her great attempts of drawings and sketches, as they truly are great.

now let me introduce you to the world of tub art. if you have never tried you are missing out. we received these instruments of art from scotts sister...i should be more clear here...sophie received these instruments of art from her auntie for her birthday, but her mom and dad thought they were a little too cool for only sophie and therefore chose to participate in the gift as well.

imagine, showering every day to this...usually with some sort of arrangement of words written underneath to share love and encouragement...so great.

sophie has taken to this whole tub art thing like stink and could care less about any tub toy, just the markers.

so these are my artists, i am so proud of them, they brighten my days. i love you guys. thank you for all your messages and art work.

a day with fish and family

yesterday we spent the day at the aquarium with auntie chelsea and uncle scotty...too much fun was had, so much that we had to buy a seasons pass so we could enjoy the fish on a regular basis with anyone who wants to come and play.

a note from sophie

hello friends and family...
i wanted to share that i am going to be a big sister! i know my mom wanted to be the one to tell you all but she is in the bathroom with her head in the toilet...again. yesterday grandma came over to play with me while mommy and daddy went to the doctors to hear the heart beat...they said my baby sister/brother (whomever it is) is doing well and growing strong. this is good news as baby has not had the greatest time getting started. but it seems all is well now, and come the middle of october i will get to hold and love this new baby. yeah for me.

party time

saturday was halle's first birthday part, very exciting. we waited all day to put on our party dress and visit our friends. and a great party it was. sophie talked on the play phone for nearly the whole time...is this a look at what is to come...what is it with girls and phones?

we wish you a very happy birthday halle and are excited to grow and learn with you each step of the way. after our party we headed to zalinkos for a little bbq action, mmmm good, then home to bed. what a day...what a good day spent with friends and family, sharing in memories and creating new ones.

old friends, new friends

kinda fun when you can spend the afternoon with an old friend and watch your girls develop a new friendship...then i worry a bit, as a mother, i wonder if i should be concerned at all by this new friendship. i know that her mother and i didn't get in a ton of trouble, but we didn't stay out of trouble either. i wonder what our moms thought of us being friends, if they shook their heads every once in a while, if they cringed at our choices, if they talked secretly with each other about what to do with us. i figure, we didn't turn out so bad...i think.
