our girls

i am blessed, and i am thankful. scott and i truly have two beautiful girls. some days i admit are crazier than others, some days there are tears, some days there are frustrations, but through it all i can say that i find much joy in this little family of mine. i have no idea how tomorrow will turn out, i don't know if they will love the Lord, i don't know what paths they will choose, and sometimes i find it overwhelming to think beyond this day. i can't imagine our life without them, my heart pounds for them. truly they are a gift, i wonder if they will ever know how important they are to scott and i. if they will ever understand that every decision we make is with them in mind. if they will know just how much we love them...maybe they don't need to know such things. if i could share my heart with them...
i pray that they would care for each other well. that they would encourage one another and uplift each other in their strengths. that they would take joy in each others accomplishments and run to each other in times of need. that they would pray for each other and have much respect for one another.
i pray that they would find men of great integrity and beauty. that they would be treated with honor that they would be cherished. that they would be in love, deep love that would see them through time. that they would find men like their daddy.
i pray that they would set their sights high and never be afraid to try anything. that they would dream big dreams and have hearts full of passion. that they would know that as a family we stand beside them and will catch them if they slip.
i pray that they would know they are children of God, that they are beautiful and that they are free.
this is my prayer for the girls we have been blessed with.

Firsts

today is a day of firsts...so lets start a. first blog in a long time, and because of that i strongly suggest you make a little time in your day for this post...it contains much information and many pictures. b. first wedding, since i was pregnant with sophie. it was good to spend the day behind the camera again. c. first helmet, seeing as how we are expert bike riders a good helmet is always a plus. d. first teeth, penny now has a total of six teeth with the seventh coming through, these pictures really only show the bottom two. e. first garden, i have a plot in a community garden across the road and have been growing beans, pumpkins, zucchini, peas, cucumbers, beets, carrots, radishes, and peppers. the only difficult part is that we have to water the garden by hand from a hand pump...which takes its time but it has been really fun, especially with my two helpers. f. first and last time you will see pictures like these! g. first visit with family, in a while. h. first time painting, i had this romantic idea that i would hang her first painting. and it all went really well, until i saw all the hairs from the paint brush in the painting...scott said i could still put it up. i. first time sharing a room, and so far so good, except the night that sophie pulled on pennys arm through the bars of her crib to get closer to her! j. first bike ride, as a family...scott rode his long board and i took the girls in the chariot. it was way too fun, both sophie and penny laughed the whole time. ps, that is my bike that i bought in grade eight with my babysitting money! these have been the firsts in a while...i have one more to add but no pictures, sophie had her first dance lesson today, and i may have to say that she is really the star of the show. i was pretty proud of her, watching her take instruction and follow the teachers moves, she was pretty cute.
